On July 23, 2018, the collapse of Saddle Dam D, part of the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy hydropower project in Laos, led to devastating floods in the Attapeu and Champasak provinces. The disaster resulted in at least 71 deaths, over 10,000 displacements, and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure.
In response, Wooshin Pigment, in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Love Sharing Foundation, donated ₩40 million to the Republic of Korea National Red Cross on July 31, 2018, to support relief efforts in Laos.
Mr. Seo Seok-hong, Chairman of the Love Sharing Foundation, expressed deep condolences for the sudden tragedy and hoped that the relief funds would contribute meaningfully to the swift recovery of the victims and the affected regions.
Wooshin Pigment's leadership, including Chairman Kim Sung-kook and CEO Jang Sung-sook, has a long record of philanthropic giving and is listed among the foundation's '9988 Love Sharing Masters.'
